LOOKING BACK ON POULTRY SUCCESS
Posted 18 February 2003
HARPER ADAMS University College, the UK’s largest specialist provider of Higher Education for the land and food-based industries will look back on the achievements of 2002 in its Annual Review, due out soon.Amongst the many achievements of the institution, its staff and students to be commemorated in this Annual Review will be that of Ian Townson, 25, who was named the 2002 winner of the Jim Sutton Award.
The Jim Sutton Award is an annual prize, given to the student who has shown the most progress within poultry-related studies on the degree and HND Agriculture, Agri-food Production & Marketing and Agri-food Marketing & Business Studies courses.
In 2002, the judges of this prestigious prize felt that Mr Townson, who is from West Bradford, near Clitheroe, Lancashire, had developed during his HND Agriculture course to become ‘an outstanding student amongst his peer group.’
They said: “Ian has shown a growing interest and development within the poultry options. His work demonstrated that he thoroughly researched the topic.”
Ian’s award is just one of many student achievements to be commemorated in the forthcoming review.
